It was 27 years ago,
when Jimmy Stewart began working with Bob Spoto.
At that time Spoto's restaurant was one of the area's
most successful steakhouses. Over the years the
locations changed, and Jimmy's career took a lot of
twists and turns. As Jimmy was researching and
honing his skills, Bob had opened another concept.
Through the years
Jimmy and Bob developed a relationship as close as
family ties; which led the duo to open in Dunedin in
November, 2000. As the restaurant grew it began to
change slightly, but at the same time it was changing
drastically, as Bob decided to retire and sell the
restaurant to Jimmy Stewart.
Over the years, Jimmy
faithfully followed Bob's concepts helping to build the
restaurant into a legendary leader in food service.
Now Spoto's Steakjoint II is sitting on the launch pad
of a great new and exciting era. Using the freshest
local & regional products and ingredients to culminate a
new gourmet twist. Designed to make this venerable
veteran a leader in innovation, while still maintaining
the basics that have brought is such success.
More than tweaking,
this culmination of Jimmy's years of wining and dining
research for new ideas and recipes. The
traditional Spoto's BBQ ribs are still there, along with
other classics. But , for those who crave the
newest and best service, there are exciting new
experiences to be enjoyed.
There are new wines
from around the world, classic preparations such as
Chateau Briand, Pepper crusted steak, and a multitude of
new twists on what has for years been one of the most
successful food operations around the country.
There is wild game, such as Elk, Venison, Kangaroo,
Antelope, and unusual offerings such as Bison and
Caribou.
The bar at Spoto's has
become a communal dining table, as they offer full meal
service for those who like to socialize with others
while they dine. Most people prefer to eat while
in conversation with others rather than alone at a
separate table. It is this sense of community that has
made the bar at Spoto's such a popular meeting spot.
Each little addition
will delight you. Plate presentation is an art that has
been developed to new heights, colorful trimmings are
